The Druids Perform at the Quiet Man; Road Work Scheduled for Route 9 in Cortlandt

1.) Peekskill Officials Approve Move Forward with Paramount Talks
The Common Council approved a resolution Monday night allowing acting City Manager Brian Havranek the go-ahead to negotiate a deal with Red House Entertainment to lease and manage the Paramount Center of the Arts.
2.) Cortlandt Town Board Meeting Scheduled for Tonight
The Cortlandt town board is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 p.m. at town hall, located at 1 Heady St. in Cortlandt Manor. Check here for a draft agenda.
3.) State Officials to Begin Work on Route 9 in Cortlandt Next Week

The state Department of Transportation will begin repairs on the Route 9 overpass above Highland Avenue on March 18. Route 9 North will be closed from the light to the “merge” with Rte. 9 South. During the three months of construction, northbound and southbound traffic on Route 9 in this area will use the current Route 9 southbound lane. Since Highland Avenue will be closed, vehicles will be diverted to the Roa Hook Road extension at the Route 9 light.
4.) WORDPLAY: Teen Poetry Workshops at the Field Library
The Field Library in Peekskill will host "WORDPLAY," a poetry workshop for middle and high schoolers, today at 3:30 p.m. Today’s session will be the first of 4 creative workshops culminating with an open mic performance ,where participants can share their creations with an intimate audience. Each workshop provides guidance in expression, introspection, public speaking, constructive criticism, editing, and teamwork and is a supportive community and a place to receive feedback and new ideas. No. 1 Rebel Band, is performing tonight at the Quiet Man Public House, located at 15 N. Division Street in Peekskill. The event costs $30 and includes both the concert and and a buffet. A cash bar will be available on the evening. Things kick-off at 6 p.m., with the band expected to take the stage at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the New York State Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ annual Christmas Appeal Trip to Ireland.
