Two Teens Arrested for Springvale Apt. Burglary

Two subjects were arrested after breaking into two occupied apartments early in the morning Wednesday.

A woman’s scream scared off two burglars at Cortlandt's Springvale Apartment complex around 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, New York State Police report. Two teenagers had already broken into an apartment in the complex and stole money. They were attempting to break into another when the neighbor’s scream scared them off and they fled on foot.

State Police at Cortlandt responded to a 911 call and located three suspicious subjects in the area, one of which was determined not involved. The other two, Rajeam Jackson, 18, and a 15-year-old juvenile were arrested for second-degree burglary and second degree attempted burglary. Jackson is reported as homeless and from the Poughkeepsie/Ossining area and the 15-year-old male was a runaway from the Endenwald School, located in Pleasantville. Both defendants are awaiting arraignment with Jackson going to the T/Cortlandt Justice Court and the juvenile going to the Westchester County Family Court.
