Win $100,000 for Local Schools, Pub and Grub Crawl, Coat Drive

Here are five things you need to know for the weekend, Dec. 16-18.

1.    Deck the House Contest
Your Holiday Decorations Could Win $100,000 for your schools. Read all about our Deck the Halls contest . The house that wins best decorated will be awarded $100,000 for its local schools. Semi-finalists will have Patch pay their December electric bills!

2.    Pub and Grub Crawl
The Peekskill BID’s Pub and Grub crawl starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. Wear your “Peekskill Makes Me Merry” button and enjoy discounts on food and drinks at all the restaurants and bars on the crawl. More details .

3.    The Nutcracker in Yorktown
Don’t miss Cortlandt Manor’s Emily Aurand as Clara in the Yorktown Stage’s production of The Nutcracker this Saturday at 12 and 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m

4. First Hebrew Coat Drive
The coat drive will be this Sunday, Dec. 18  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 500 coats, boots, scarves & gloves have been given away in the last two Coat Drives.  If you know of anyone needing a coat boots etc., please tell them.  Donations of coats, gloves, scarves, etc. will be accepted until 12 p.m. today. Drop them off at address is 1821 East Main Street (next to the Chase bank).  

5.    Weekend Weather
There is a chance of flurries Saturday night between 1 and 3 a.m., and then a chance of snow showers, according to the National Weather service. Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 48. Saturday and Sunday will be around 40 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will be around 26 degrees. Stay warm!
