YONKERS, NY — Thanks in part to an unsolicited celebrity endorsement, the New Haven-style "apizza" is the talk of Tinseltown. Now, that unpaid spokesperson is getting his own place in pizza history.

Renowned actor Paul Giamatti, nominated for Best Actor for his role in the 2023 film, "The Holdovers," recently shared his passion for Frank Pepe’s White Clam with Bacon pie during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Inspired by this declaration of love, the team at Frank Pepe’s will rename its White Clam with Bacon pie the "Paul Giamatti Pie" on Oscar day.

The medium pie will be offered for $25 on March 10 only — including at the Yonkers location.

The 99-year-old pizzeria, known as the originator of New Haven-style "apizza," will also donate its freshly made pies (renamed "Holdover" pies in honor of the movie) during the first week of March to non-profit organizations in each of its 16 markets. Recipients include The Yonkers Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and People Helping People.

"We are honored by Paul’s glowing endorsement of Pepe’s," said Jennifer Bimonte-Kelly, granddaughter of Frank Pepe. "We love seeing him when he visits New Haven and we’ve always admired his good taste. We’ll be rooting for him on March 10th – over pizza, of course."
