Pelham BOE Holds Two Meetings

The Pelham BOE will hold two meetings on June 6 & 7 one will be a public session and the other will be closed.

From Pelham BOE: The Board of Education of the Pelham Public Schools will hold two upcoming meetings. The public session of the first meeting on Tuesday, June 6 is scheduled to begin at 8:15 pm in the Middle School Library on the second floor of Pelham Middle School, 28 Franklin Pl, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will meet at 7:00 pm and go immediately into Executive Session in the Superintendent's Conference Room before the public meeting.

Prior to the public session, the Board will host a reception for the four retiring staff members, Custodian Bob Benkwitt, Prospect Hill Principal Dr. Richard Limato, Pelham Middle School Teaching Assistant Catherine Morgan and PMHS Art Teacher Gail Orfei. The reception will begin at 7:30 pm in the PMHS library.

During the public meeting, the Board is expected to appoint the next Director of Technology. Additionally, the Board may provide an update on the status of the planned bond referendum to replace the Hutchinson School brick façade and other possible projects. The Board will also provide a brief update on the search for a superintendent of schools.

The full agenda will be available for viewing 24 hours before the meeting. In addition to Dr. Giarrizzo's Superintendent's report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Dr. Garcia on 21st Century Learning and Professional Development, Rosemary Matthews on Networks of Support and Social-Emotional Development, and a report on Finances and Facilities.

The second meeting will occur on Wednesday, June 7 at 7:30 pm in the Superintendent’s Conference Room in the District Central Office, 18 Franklin Place. The Board is expected to immediately enter into Executive Session to discuss matters pertaining to the search for a superintendent of schools. No public session is anticipated at this meeting.
