Pelham Special Needs Program Possible

Pelham's school district is looking at adding a special needs program for middle school students, according tolohud. Currently, the District places special-needs students in other districts. Pelham's superintendent says that the move is part of their tentative 2013-2014 budget.

The current budget calls for an average tax bill to go up by 3.5%, according to the report. The School Board is also looking at starting up a junior varsity hockey team. Board members are also eyeing $150,000 in new security measures for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

There will be workshops on the budget on April 1 and 8. The board hopes to have its budget finalized on April 23. A public hearing may then be held on May 7.
