PMHS Student Participates In NY Jr. Science & Humanities Symposium
James Chandler has been named a finalist in the NY Jr. Science & Humanities Symposium and will participate at nationals in April.
From PMHS: PMHS senior James Chandler was named a finalist at the 32 nd New York Junior Science and Humanities Symposium and will now compete in the national competition in San Diego, California next month.
Chandler topped the list of several Pelham students who had an outstanding performance at the state JSHS competition, which was attended by more than 600 participants, including science research students and teachers, scientist judges, faculty, undergraduate and graduate students.
In addition to Chandler, who was named a finalist for his project in biology, Megan Ploch placed 2 nd in Physical Science and Sarah Jacobsen and Eshan Ahmed both placed 3 rd in Biomedical Science and Medicine and Health respectively.

Of the 600 participants, just five students, including Chandler, moved on to the national competition.
