PMHS Students Participate In Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair

The Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair was on Mar. 4 and PMHS placed in major categories throughout the competition.

From PMHS: Pelham Memorial High School’s Science Research students had an incredible performance at the Regeneron Westchester Science and Engineering Fair on March 4.

The competition features more than 500 students from 38 Westchester and Putnam county high schools who showcase their multi-year science research projects, including individual and team poster presentations. Of the 38 schools in attendance, Pelham ranked 2 nd in the most amount of wins and awards and 75 percent of Pelham students that participated won recognition in their category.

Additionally, two Pelham students represented one-third of the six sophomores that participated and both placed 2 nd their category.

Senior Megan Ploch won first place in the environmental sciences category and is a grand prize finalist moving forward to compete at the International Sustainable World Project Olympiad, (I-SWEEEP). The event brings together more than 700 students from over 60 countries whose projects have focused on sustainability in the areas of energy, environment and engineering.
