Briarcliff’s Todd ES Awarded National Blue Ribbon Plaque
Principal Nadine McDermott accepted the school's award in Washington D.C.

From Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District: Todd Elementary School Principal Nadine McDermott, along with fourth-grade teacher Lorraine McDermott, was among the nearly 1,000 educators and supporters who attended the 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools ceremony in Washington, D.C., in November.
Both Briarcliff Manor educators were formally recognized and received a plaque naming Todd as a national Exemplary High Performing School.
The ceremony included remarks from U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King Jr., education researcher Russell Quaglia, diversity advocates Eileen Kugler and Ellen Oh, and the 2014 recipients of the National Principal of the Year and National Teacher of the Year awards.

Todd’s proud representatives also participated in breakout sessions with educators from across the country, during which they shared best practices and valuable strategies.
The plaque will be displayed in the lobby of Todd Elementary School.
