PLEASANTVILLE, NY — Schools in the Pleasantville district were placed on lockout because of a comment made by a minor.

The Pleasantville Police Department said on Monday morning a minor went into the Mount Pleasant Library and made what was called a “concerning comment” to a library staff member.

The staff member contacted the police and an investigation began.

While the police were investigating, all three schools in the Pleasantville district were placed on lockout — meaning no one could enter the schools — until the incident was resolved.

Police said the minor was identified and located.

The investigation found there was never a threat to the community, according to authorities.
