Cops: Valhalla Man Given $1, But Steals $20

Valhalla man asks for money in downtown White Plains, police said, and then snatches a $20.

A Valhalla man is facing felony charges after cops caught up with his capers in downtown White Plains, police said.

David Dorsey, 29, was standing outside Anthony's Deli on Martine Avenue last Saturday evening when he asked a passer-by for money.

The victim forked over a $1, police told Patch, but Dorsey then snatched a $20 out of the victim's other hand and refused to give it back.

The victim followed Dorsey, and when police showed up shortly after the alleged theft, Dorsey surrendered the $20 bill.

Dorsey was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony.
