Kevin Bacon's 'The Following' Filming on North State
The former Ossining command of the Westchester County Police Department is the backdrop for the filming.
The currently vacant police station on North State Road in Briarcliff Manor was taken over by the Havenport Police Department today.
The building is owned by the Town of Ossining and for two days is a fictional sheriff's office that will appear in the new Fox television show The Following, starring Kevin Bacon, a crew member confirmed to Patch today.
Until last year, the building served as the Town of Ossining command of the Westchester County Police Department.

Trucks, trailers and a food tent could be seen from North State Road today, some parked behind local businesses, including Tuscan Grille. According to the restaurant's Facebook page, it's closed Monday and Tuesday for filming.
The crew member said filming will continue Tuesday inside the town's police building as well.

According to the Fox website, The Following, which premiered in January, is a "psychological thriller."
The site reads:
"THE FBI estimates there are currently up to 300 active serial killers in the United States. What would happen if these killers had a way of communicating and connecting with each other? What if they were able to work together and form alliances? What if one brilliant and charismatic, yet psychotic mastermind was able to bring them all together and activate a cult of believers following his every command?"
Fox's website identifies Bacon's character as former FBI agent Ryan Hardy, who serves as a consultant when a serial killer escapes prison.
The Following also stars James Purefoy, Natalie Zea, Annie Parisse, Shawn Ashmore and Nico Tortorella.
The series airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. Tonight's episode, the fourth in the series, is titled "Mad Love."
