Numerous Attempted Car Break-ins Reported in Pleasantville

Police received multiple calls from residents reporting their vehicles has been disturbed.

The Pleasantville Police Department received numerous reports of attempted car break-ins and larcenies of items from parked cars last week.

One report came into police the afternoon of April 8, after a car had been broken into on Marble Avenue. A second came a couple hours later that same afternoon, also from Marble Avenue.

Police reported a juvenile was arrested in connection with the second reported break-in.

Then, on the morning of Thursday, April 11 police received a slew of calls from residents in the Pleasant Avenue neighborhood. Calls came in at 6:54 a.m., 7:13 a.m., 8 a.m., 8:20 a.m. and 9:16 a.m. that day. The 7:13 a.m. call came from a Mountain Road resident; the rest from Pleasant Avenue homeowners.

The larcenies and attempted larcenies remain under investigation.
