Update: After Truck Overturned, Route 9A Reopens
Local and state police are warning locals to "expect delays" in the Ossining area.
Update, 9:54 p.m. — After a garbage truck tipped over this morning, Route 9A has now reopened in both directions, Ossining Police said in a Nixle alert at approximately 9:50 p.m.
"The ramp that connects N. Highland Ave to Rt. 9A remains closed until further notice," the department noted.

Update, 4:50 p.m. — The Ossining Police Department reports Route 9A northbound at Route 9 remains closed. The department advises motorists utilize the Taconic State Parkway instead.

A truck rolled over near the merging of Route 9 and Route 9A northbound in Ossining, according to an alert from the New York State Department of Transportation.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m., is expected to result in delays and closures for at least a few hours today.
Village of Ossining Police also issued a Nixle alert about the accident just before noon today.
According to the DOT, all northbound lanes are closed at Cedar Lane and the southbound left lane is blocked. The right lane between Route 9 and Cedar lane southband remains open to traffic.
"Expect delays. Use alternate route," the state advised.
