Pace Baseball Wraps up Season Opening Series with Loss
The Pace University Setters fell to #3 seed Tampa in Florida over the weekend.

TAMPA, Fla.- The Setters wrapped up their season-opening three-game series with a 14-1 loss to the University of Tampa Spartans. Pace falls to 0-3 on the season, while Tampa improves to 10-2.
The Setters got their lone run in the fifth inning as Joe Solomeno (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East)led off with a single. He moved to second on a wild pitch and advanced to third on a groundout.Brandon Martineson (Prospect, KY/Warwick) drove in Solomeno with a double.

On the mound, Jonathan Chudy (Goshen, NY/Goshen) got the start, allowing eight runs, seven earned in three innings, picked up the loss.
The Setters are back in action on Friday, March 1 as they travel to Mercy College for a 2:30 pm start.
