Pace Men's Basketball Coach to Depart
The Pleasantville university announced Jim Harter won't be returning next season.

After 16 seasons with the Pace University Setters, men's head basketball coach Jim Harter "will not continue," the athletic department announced last week.
"Harter finished his 16th season, leading the Setters to a 9-16 overall record and 6-15 finish in the Northeast-10..." the school said in a statement. "Harter went 224-213 overall in his time at Pace."
On the Setters' website, no replacement is listed for Harter. Only Graduate Assistant Coach Kevin Clark is listed under coaches, with a "TBA" label on the head coach position.

Said Pace University Director of Athletics Mark Brown. "I’d like to thank Coach Harter for his dedication and contributions to the men’s basketball program over the past 16 years and wish him all the best."
Brown said in the university's statement that "building our program" is a priority going forward.

The statement noted this year's team was "short of a bid into the conference playoffs."
"Men’s basketball is an important part of the Pace athletics program," Brown said. "We are committed to building our program into a perennial contender for the Northeast-10 Championship and will begin to search for the best candidate possible to help us reach that goal."
