Pleasantville Court: Grand Larceny Cases Adjourned

Here's a look at what happened during Pleasantville Court's February 5 criminal session.

James Francis Corey of Pleasantville is still in the custody of the Westchester County Jail as he awaits the outcome of a third-degree grand larceny case in the village.

The 46-year-old is accused of taking $5,000 during a guitar sale transaction last year.

Following his January 22 village court appearance, he was arrested on a Fugitive from Justice charge.

According to Westchester County Jail records, he currently faces a Fugitive from Justice charge in Pleasantville without bail set, as well as a Fugitive from Justice charge in county court.

During court appearances in early 2012, Corey's attorney stated he had been extradited to Utah for a period of time where he faced other criminal charges.

His case was adjourned on February 5 and he is due back before Village Justice John Curley again on Tuesday.

In Pleasantville on Jan. 22, Corey's case was put over until February 19, but has since been moved up to February 5.

Westchester County Jail records indicate he is still in custody without bail set.

Wasim Ali of Pleasantville is also due back in court again on February 19.

The 59-year-old is accused of filing a false robbery report and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree after he reportedly told police he was robbed at knifepoint while working at a village gas station in September.

At a January court date, Westchester County Assistant District Attorney Michael Ashraf told the court he would likely offer Ali a misdemeanor plea with a sentence of probation to cover the two charges.

He is due back in court on Tuesday.
