Pleasantville Elevates Wollman to Sergeant

Sgt. Det. Jesse Wollman has served as the police department's liaison to the school district in his capacity of youth officer.

The Village of Pleasantville's Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Pleasantville Police Det. Jesse Wollman at Monday's meeting.

Before the appointment, Chief Richard Love emphasized the importance of the relationship between local police, school district officials and village youths.

"More understanding and respect between the young people of this community and the police is an essential element in our relationship and one that will drive this community forward and keep us focused on the success of all residents in the future," he stated.

Love said Wollman has, for the last three-and-a-half years, "been a catalyst in this relationship."

Det. Wollman, Love said, is "not in it just for a paycheck, but for the satisfaction of knowing that he made a difference."

Love revealed it has been one of Wollman's "career objectives" to move into the patrol division and called the newly-minted sergeant, "a true caring professional and one I welcome to the administration team of this department."
