Pleasantville Girls B-Ball Applauded for Stellar Season
After tallying just four wins last season, the team finished with a 16-4 record in 2012-13.

A winning season, a coach of the year accolade and a victory against Briarcliff were three reasons for the Pleasantville High School girls varsity basketball team to celebrate.
A big part of the 16-4 record the team held was due to "the fab five," Athletic Director John Bauerlein shared at the April 16 Board of Education meeting.
"The freshmen made a pretty big sacrifice," he said. "They played on a varsity team when they could have probably played on the JV team and saw a lot of minutes."

The five freshmen, four sophomores, one junior and two graduating seniors making up the squad worked hard to put the future team "on the map for the next couple of years," Bauerlein said.
The team members were given medals for their League Championship win and Coach Myndi Hill was applauded for being named Coach of the Year for the league.

"I am just the one on the sidelines that is fortune enough to coach them," Hill said.
She said the team worked hard all season and "have really made that commitment because they want to win and they deserve it."
