The Pleasantville community honored Annette Colasunno, owner of Lil' Chocolate Shoppe, on Wednesday, April 27.
At an April 27 event at Trattoria 160, the Pleasantville community honored Annette Colasuonno, owner of Lil’ Chocolate Shoppe, as its 2015 Business Person of the Year. This was the 17th ceremony to present these awards, whose recipients are selected by the members of the Chamber for demonstrating business excellence, vision, innovation, leadership and community spirit.
Colauonno opened the Lil' Chocolate Shoppe in 1986 on Manville Road in the building that currently houses the Jacob Burns Film Center. The “Shoppe” moved to its present location at 15 Washington Ave. more than 20 years ago to date. The store specializes in making personal, one-of-a-kind designed chocolates for all occasions. Colauonno works with her clients to create gifts and favors for anniversaries, parties and weddings. Clients can choose from her extensive selection of confections to fill a gift box, tin, basket, or your own special container. The Lil' Chocolate Shoppe has a selection of classic boxed chocolates and gourmet truffles as well as seasonal and holiday-themed favorites. Colauonno has instructed children in chocolate making classes for the Chappaqua, Briarcliff and Armonk Recreation Departments. She currently supports the Northern Westchester Shelter, Pleasantville Food Pantry and Rosary Hill Hospice.
