Pleasantville School Budget Passes, McGaffey Re-Elected

A budget that received little criticism during public board of education meetings leading up to its adoption in Pleasantville easily passed Tuesday.

Voters hit the polls at Pleasantville Middle School to weigh in on the $46,320,876 expenditure amount adopted by the school board last month; as well as to cast votes to fill the single expiring board position.


A total of 1,037 voters went to the polls today.

Yes: 750
No: 282

Board of Education Election Results
Shane McGaffey: 834

Second-term Trustee and current Vice President McGaffey said, "I think that the budget vote was kind of a reflection of the the work that the entire board has done in the last year."

He continued, "I am excited to be working with the people I am working with now. I think we have a good group. It's going to be fun, it's going to be challenging."
