Police: Jewelry, Power Drill Missing from Briarcliff Garage

Police are investigating a possible larceny reported by a Briarbrook Drive resident.

Multiple pieces of jewelry and a power drill were reported missing from a Briarbrook Drive garage this week, Briarcliff Manor Police reported.

"A person from Briarbrook Drive said that she moved into the house on January 8 and when she was unpacking boxes on Monday, she noticed several items missing," said Lt. Donald Gorey.

The potential crime, which would have occurred sometime since the eighth and this week, is being deemed a larceny, he said.

"There was no signs of any break-ins," Gorey added. "We don't know how many people have been in and out of the house [since the eighth]."

The new resident completed a lost and stolen form at police headquarters, which sites several items missing—including some rings and a power drill.

Gorey recalled at least one of the items is pretty pricey, valued "around $6,000 to $7,000" he said.

No other similar incident has been reported recently, Gorey said.
