Twist Brings New Frozen Yogurt Option to Briarcliff
The third Westchester location for the frozen yogurt and sweet shop brings "a friendly, fun environment" to Pleasantville Road.

Right on the heels of one frozen yogurt shop opening, Twist Frozen Yogurt Bar & Sweet Shop has made a splash on Pleasantville Road in Briarcliff Manor.
"Twist is a friendly, fun environment, pleasing to all the senses," Teresa McKenna, co-owner of the new shop, told Patch in an email.
McKenna and her husband Kevin operate Twist's now three Westchester County locations along with Mary Beth and Michael Daly.

The first store opened in Yorktown exactly one year before the Briarcliff Manor location welcomed its first customer—April 4, 2012.
A second shop opened in Katonah in November, McKenna shared.

The simple concept and kid-friendly atmosphere has proved to be a winning plan for the business owners.
"It is colorful, comfortable and a place where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a frozen treat," McKenna explained. "The concept is simple....self serve frozen yogurt and ice cream. Do it yourself toppings and 12 yogurt and ice cream flavors that yield endless possibilities."
In addition to the dozen flavors—which include peanut butter, island banana, cookies and cream and cake batter—"Toppings range from a selection of refreshing fruits to nuts to candies and crunchies," she added.
Other options? "You can enjoy warmed caramel sauce or hot fudge to marshmallow or Melba sauce. And top it all off with fresh whipped cream and a cherry!" said McKenna.
The owners hope the new shop's central business district location in Briarcliff Manor will bring in a similar customer base to its other two locations.
"In Yorktown and Katonah, Twist has become the 'go to' destination after school, after a sports events and especially after dinner," McKenna said.
An extra incentive Twist offers: "If you bring in a dinner receipt from any restaurant you get 20 percent off of your Twist dessert. We call it 'Dinner with a Twist,'" McKenna added.
Twist's management hopes the store will "create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
Said McKenna, "We are so fortunate to have a 'pocket park' right next store where one can idle away some time while enjoying a frozen, creamy treat!"
