Two Incumbents, Two Challengers for Briarcliff School Board

In Pleasantville, Vice President Shane McGaffey is running for re-election, uncontested.

The sole school board seat up for grabs this election year in Pleasantville will be filled by its current occupant, first-term member Shane McGaffey, who for the past year has served as the school board vice president.

No other candidates have filed petitions with the district to seek office.

In Briarcliff Manor, voters will have the opportunity to fill two seats with expiring terms this year.

Current Board President Sal Maglietta will run for re-election in May, along with member Jonathan Satran. Satran was appointed by the board in August, after Rosella Ranno resigned, to complete her term.

Also seeking office are Louis Linder and Paul Wasserman.

Residents in both districts will head to the polls on Tuesday, May 21 to vote for school board candidates and for or against the proposed 2013-14 district budgets.
