Yogolicious Expands to North State Road

The frozen yogurt and sweets shop now has locations in Pleasantville and Briarcliff Manor.

For the Paternostro family, opening a second Yogolicious location on North State Road was a no-brainer.

"We live between Briarcliff and Pleasantville, about five minutes from each store," explained Enzo Paternostro, who operates the shops along with his wife Jennifer.

While the new store falls in the Town of Ossining, it has a Briarcliff Manor address, and the Paternostros were looking to serve both communities when eyeing a second location.

"We like this area—it's up and coming for families," Paternostro said. "There are a lot of townhouses and there are lots of stores starting to open up here on the strip."

The couple opened their first self-serve frozen yogurt shop under the same name on April 11, 2012 and immediately saw success. They quickly expanded last summer and began offering—in addition to frozen yogurt and candy—Longford's Own Made Ice Cream products, which are made in Port Chester.

Soon, the Pleasantville location will begin offering self-serve soft-serve ice cream as well; while Briarcliff Manor's shop will have hot drinks like espresso and cappuccinos on tap.

The 516 North State Rd. space the new Yogolicious shares with Look of Success offers a large parking lot, plenty of outdoor seating and a sidewalk for easy access and enjoyment—three key elements for Paternostro.

At both shops, "We have 15 flavors of yogurt, we have 12 flavors of ice cream and we have over 70 toppings," he said. "Everything is bought fresh. We don't buy anything that is packaged."

The spaces are equipped also with indoor seating and built-in iPads loaded with games for kids to enjoy while they hang out.

"We are trying to give all the kids in the town somewhere they can go hang out, not get in trouble and have some fun with their friends," Paternostro said.

And while similar frozen yogurt shops have sprouted up around town since Yogolicious' first location opened last year, he thinks his shops have stood out.

"I think we try to differentiate ourselves from the competition," Paternostro asserted. "The key is our customer service. We have great kids and family members working for us."

Yogolicious' Briarcliff Manor location held a soft opening last weekend, but Paternostro said he is planning an outdoor grand opening when the weather warms up.

"We are going to do a nice grand opening," he said. "We are going to have face painters, we are going to have giveaways and we are going to do some entertainment."
