Why go: Join fellow Pleasantvillians for a day filled with kiddie rides, local vendors, a sports equipment giveaway, demonstrations and performances and more.
Pricing: Free to attend.

BMEF Open Greenhouse Day

Where/When: Briarcliff Middle School on Sunday, May 19 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Why go: The Briarcliff Manor Education Found will be hosting a day at Academia, including student-run tours of the greenhouse, scavenger hunts, herb plantings and more.
Pricing: Free, donations welcome

Pleasantville 5K for Education

Where/When: Starts at intersection of Washington and Edgewood Avenues in Pleasantville on Saturday, May 18 at 8:30 a.m.
Why go: The annual 5K walk/run and one-mile fun run benefits the Community Scholarship Fund of Pleasantville. The route goes from Washington Avenue to Manville Road, Route 117, Pierce Drive and back to Washington Avenue. The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. There will prizes awarded in a number of age groups. For more information, visit www.pvillecsf.com.

Seussical Auditions

Where/When: Briarcliff Manor Recreation Building (48 Macy Rd). on Sunday, May 19 at 1 p.m. (and May 22 at 6 p.m.)
Why go: The Summercliff Players, a youth theatre group not limited to Briarcliff Manor and Ossining residents, is gearing up for its summer production of Seussical. Rehearsals begin on June 24. Email summercliffplayers@gmail.com to set up an audition time.

Community Pancake Breakfast

Where/When: Pleasantville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 18 from 7 to 11:30 a.m.
Why go: The church's annual pancake breakfast raises funds for the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). Each year, youths and adults from the Pleasantville area help repair and rebuilt homes in rural Appalachia.
