2 Days After L.I. Hoop Title, Riley Places 7th in National Triple Jump
Melodee Riley placed seventh in the triple jump in the New Balance Indoor National competition on Sunday, less than 48 hours after taking the Long Island title home with her teammates.

Friday night, she led the Lady Blue Waves in scoring , and less than 48 hours later she was placing in the top 10 in a national track event.
Call it another weekend for star athlete and , who placed seventh in the triple jump at the New Balance Indoor Nationals at the NYC Armory last Sunday.
Riley, who has a full scholarship to UConn and will compete with former teammate Treval Hatcher next fall, scored a jump of 39 feet 8.5 inches on Sunday. Last June, she placed fourth in the national outdoor triple jump competition .

Friday, Riley and her basketball teammates head to Troy and will tip off against Penfield in the state's Class AA semifinal game at 6:15 p.m. It is unclear if Riley - who has her eyes set on the 2016 Olympics - will be jumping again on Sunday.
