2 Residents Escape Wading River House Fire Wednesday: Police
2 fire department personnel sustained non-life threatening injuries, police say.
WADING RIVER, NY — Two residents escaped a house fire in Wading River Wednesday morning, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the fire broke out at about 11:24 a.m. at a home on 19th Street.
The two occupants of the residence had exited the house without injury before police arrived, officials said.

The Wading River Fire Department, along with adjoining fire departments, extinguished the blaze, officials said.
Two of the fire department's personnel sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said

The Riverhead Police Department's detective squad and the Riverhead Town fire marshal's office, along with the Suffolk County Police Department's arson squad, will further investigate the fire to determine its origin and cause, police said.
