A couple of dogs were found around Riverhead on Wednesday, and North Fork Animal Welfare League is looking for their owners.
A male hound was found on Osborn Avenue, and the NFAWL – which recently took over operations at the town animal shelter – posted on its Facebook page around 4 p.m. that he was spotted near the town transportation garage.
About an hour later, a post showed a merle pitbull less than a year old, who was found near the intersection of Northville Turnpike and Fishel Avenue.
