
Ray Pickersgill, co-owner of Robert James Salon and president of the Riverhead Business Improvement District, was recognized by the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday morning as the body granted Oct. 11 as 'Raymond Pickersgill Day.'
The downtown business owner was granted a proclamation from Legis. Ed Romaine, R-Center Moriches, who said that, "It's people like Ray who are helping turn around our downtowns in Suffolk County."
Pickersgill serves as the first legislative district's representative on the Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Advisory Committee, which recognizes and awards projects on Suffolk County's main streets with grant funding provided through county funds.

He was recently awarded a "Small Business Recognition Award" from the Long Island Business Development Council.
