Blue Waves Lose Two at Home

Each facing undefeated teams on Wednesday, the Riverhead girls' soccer and field hockey teams saw firsthand why, in fact, their opponents were a combined 13-0.

Girls' soccer fell to 2-5 on the year in a 5-1 loss to Half Hollow Hills West (8-0). Katie McKillop scored the lone goal for the Blue Waves on a header off an Ashley Drozd corner kick.

The Blue Waves field hockey team fell to 4-4 on the year in a 7-0 loss to Miller Place (7-0). After going into the half down, 1-0, Miller Place exploded for 6 points in the second half.
