Burglar Responsible For Riverhead Break-Ins Nabbed: Police

He reportedly burglarized both Star Confectionary and Mugs on Main, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Police have nabbed the man responsible for a break-in at Star Confectionary in Riverhead, as well as a number of other incidents, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, on Tuesday, November 12, officers responded to a burglary at Star Confectionary on East Main Street, where money was stolen from a safe.

Earlier, on October 29, Mugs on Main, also on East Main Street, was burglarized and money was taken from a cash register, police said.

Saquon Blount, 26, of Patchogue, was arrested Thursday morning at 8:50 a.m. and taken to Riverhead police headquarters, where he was processed on charges including two counts of third degree burglary, felonies, police said.

He was also charged with two separate and unrelated incidents that took place on Nov. 1 at the Nike Outlet at Tanger, and on November 11, at the Riverhead Lofts on East Main Street; he was charged with two counts of petty larceny, misdemeanors, in relation to those incidents, police said.

He was arraigned on all charges and remanded to the custody of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, police said.
