Car Fire Breaks Out In Riverhead After Crash: FD

RIVERHEAD, NY — A car fire broke out after a crash in Riverhead Tuesday morning.

According to the Riverhead Fire Department, at about 5:30 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle fire resulting from a crash under the Long Island Expressway bridge on Nugent Drive.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a vehicle well involved in flames, officials said. Crews quickly extinguished and secured the vehicles, preventing further spread and ensuring the scene was safe, officials added.

"Thank you to all responding members for their quick action and dedication early this morning," the Riverhead Fire Department said.
