- Riverhead Planning Board chairman Stan Carey to step down next month. Stan Carey is retiring from the Riverhead Planning Board at the end of November, but he says he plans to stay involved in planning and water issues. Stan worked in municipal water for 36 years. (Riverhead News Review)
- Bridge in Riverhead to be named in memory of fallen state trooper. Trooper Consorte, was from Port Jefferson and a graduate of Comsewogue High School. He died on duty on Nov. 23, 1987 at the age of 24. He was struck and killed in Riverhead by a vehicle as he was preparing to mark the scene of an accident that his patrol car was involved in.
