Cops: Man Stole Purse From Car in School Lot, Bought Items at Tanger

Riverhead Police and Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are looking for the public's help in identifying a man they say stole a purse from a car in a Riverhead school parking lot, and then used a stolen credit card to purchase items at at the Tanger Outlets.

Between 11:30 a.m. and noon on Jan. 3, a woman reported that someone broke into her car in the parking lot at . Reports state that she later learned that her credit card - which was located in her purse on the floor of the car - was used to make transactions at various locations, LaCoste being one of them.

Police are asking anybody with information about the subject to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, and a cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to information that leads to an arrest.
