LI Woman Stole Car, Merchandise From Stores, In Riverhead: Police

She stole the car from a gas station and then, it was learned that earlier in the month, she'd stolen items from Tanger and Marshalls: PD.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Medford woman was arrested after she stole a car, plus merchandise from stores, in Riverhead, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, on March 21 at 4:21 p.m., a 911 call came in about a motor vehicle theft that had just occurred at the Mobil gas station on East Main Street. The vehicle was recovered a short time later, unoccupied, at an apartment complex in Moriches, police said.

Police said detectives were also investigating two burglary cases that took place on March 7, when Danielle Magee, 42, stole items from the Nike store at the Riverhead Tanger Outlet and the Riverhead Marshalls, according to authorities.

On March 27, Magee was being held in custody at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility for unrelated charges, police said.

On Wednesday, April 2, Magee was produced at the Riverhead Police Department by the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department to be processed; she was arraigned on charges including second-degree grand larceny; two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation; and two counts of third-degree burglary, police said.

Magee was remanded to the Suffolk County Correction Facility without bail, police said.
