Loaded Handgun Found At Splish Splash Water Park: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — A loaded handgun was found at Splish Splash Water Park in Calverton Wednesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, at about 5:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to Splish Splash after an employee discovered a handgun following a disturbance involving several juveniles.

When patrol officers arrived, the handgun was secured and later recovered by detectives, police said. Detectives are currently investigating, to determine who possessed the recovered handgun, police said.

Splish Splash representatives did not immediately return a request for comment.
