Man Arrested After LI Burglary; Money Found Submerged In River: PD
He burglarized the Riverhead Brew House, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — An arrest was made Wednesday after a burglary at the Riverhead Brew House, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, on Wednesday at about 4:50 p.m., an employee of the Riverhead Brew House called the Riverhead Police department to report a burglary that had occurred on November 10 at about 5 a.m.
The employee told authorities that an unknown male entered the premises through an improperly secured side door and removed a cash drawer with about $200, police said.

Riverhead Police Department detectives investigated and at about 6:42 p.m., a 60-year-old man, who is without a known address, was placed under arrest and charged with third-degree burglary, police said.
Patrol officers assisting the detective squad were able to locate the cash drawer in Grangabel Park, submerged in water, police said. The man later confessed to the burglary and gave a full written confession to detectives; he was held for arraignment, police said.
