Man Charged With Felony DWI In Hampton Bays: Police

The Riverhead man was arrested Sunday, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated Sunday in Hampton Bays, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, a driver was stopped for committing several vehicle and traffic law violations on State Route 24. Upon further investigation, Sergio LopezChamale, 40, was found to be intoxicated; he was transported to Southampton Town police headquarters for

processing and held for morning arraignment, police said.

LopezChamale was charged with felony DWI, prior conviction within 10 years, and numerous traffic infractions, violations, police said.
