1. Riverhead area adoptable pets. If you're a cat person, meet Simon, a domestic short hair, up for adoption. Or if dogs are more your thing, there are several great dogs available, too. 3. On March 19, the LepreCon craft spirit crawl will take place along the “Riverhead Ale Trail” to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Join the downtown Riverhead’s breweries and distillery to celebrate the holiday with a daylong event that includes a free shuttle from noon to 5 p.m., stopping at all locations on a loop throughout the afternoon. 4. Missing Riverhead teen returns safely. According to the Riverhead Police Department, Autumn Tucker, a 14-year-old who was previously reported as a missing/runaway child, returned as of Friday to the Little Children's Services facility on her own and without further incident. (Riverhead Patch)
5. Cigarette Caused Riverhead House Fire That Killed 5: Police: A cigarette started the massive Riverhead fire that ripped through a 1905 home, leaving five dead, police said.
   Suffolk County Police said last week that the fire was caused by a cigarette but did not give specifics as to where the cigarette was found or where the fire began on Nov. 16. (Riverhead Patch)
