1. New pets up for adoption in Riverhead area shelters. Meet Cookie, she is as sweet as she sounds, this female puppy is a pit bull terrier-Great Dane Mix — yep, she's gonna be big and has a heart to go with her size. If you are looking for a smaller puppy, there is Amelia who is looking for her furrever home. (Riverhead Patch)

3. Brendan Haverty, 26, a Riverhead man, was killed and four other people were hurt in a Hauppauge crash Monday morning, police said. According to police, the accident happened on Route 347 at Brooksite Drive around 1:35 a.m. Haverty was a passenger of one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other four involved in the accident were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. (News 12 New Jersey)
4. Affordable housing in Riverhead will become available if the Riverhead Town Board adopts a "local law to integrate the Long Island Workforce Housing Act into the town’s zoning code." Let's see how the vote goes on June 7 at the public hearing. (RiverheadLOCAL)
5. Have you seen Eianna Delorantis? Riverhead Town police are asking the public to assist in finding Delorantis. According to police, Delorantis is a "white female, 5 feet, 5 inches tall; she weighs 119 lbs. and has brown hair and brown eyes." She was last seen leaving the Little Flower Children's Services facility in Wading River on Friday at 10:50 p.m. without permission.
