- The Riverhead Board of Education promoted Lori Koerner to the new position of assistant superintendent of Human Resources and Elementary Education effective Tuesday. The promotion comes with a $30,000 raise, boosting Koerner’s annual salary to $199,472. According to RiverheadLOCAL,"The board on Tuesday night also accepted the resignation of assistant superintendent of Finance of Operations Sam Schneider, who was hired last week by the East Hampton Union Free School District as the assistant superintendent for business," RiverheadLOCAL stated. - Hallockville Museum Farm, learn what it was like to live on a farm. The Hallock family’s homestead is a 28-acre farm in Riverhead. There are guided tours on the weekend and by appointment; you'll see the home with original floors and wood burning oven. "There are 18 other historic buildings to tour, including the original barn that is home to pigs. You can also see the smoke house, the outhouse, and the chicken coop where the family would walk to get their eggs," stated News 12. The grounds are open every day. (News 12 Westchester)
- Harry And Louise, A Love Story: Saying Goodbye After 48 Years: Harry and Louise Wilkinson were married three months after they met in 1973, on the lawn of the Mattituck home they were renting — knowing, from the start, that their love was forever. (Riverhead Patch)
- Charles Entenmann, famous for making a Long Island bakery, Entenmann's Bakery, a household name, dies at 92. The bakery was founded by Charles' grandfather William, in 1898 in Brooklyn. "After serving in the Army, Charlie, along with brothers Robert and William and mother Martha, took the family business, Entenmann's Bakery, from Main Street, Bay Shore, N.Y., to grocers across America," the obituary reads. Charles Entenmann's love for the humanities and Long Island led him to support and advocate for the Great South Bay YMCA in Bay Shore, his obituary said, and he funded research to improve water quality and habitats in the Great South Bay.
