Here are the top stories today in Riverhead:

  1. Parolee Messiah Booker, also known as Matthew Booker, 37, a Mastic Beach man, was arrested by Riverhead Police detectives and charged Tuesday with firing a gun at a Riverhead apartment complex earlier in May, police said. Booker was previously charged with shooting Demitri Hampton during a 2013 home invasion in Flanders. (Riverhead Patch)
  2. Lewin Farms said it is the first strawberry picking farm on Long Island. It may well be, but if you are looking to go strawberry picking this month, here is a guide to other locations to try out. First, check with the farms before leaving your home, dates and times are subject to change. (News 12 New Jersey)
  3. The 35th annual Community Awareness Program’s (CAP) march against drugs, alcohol and tobacco will return this year on Friday, June 10 at 9:30 a.m. beginning in the front of Pulaski Street Elementary School. Tijuana Fulford, founder and chief visionary officer of The Butterfly Effect Project, will be the honored guest and keynote speaker. (Riverhead LOCAL)
