Here are the top stories today in Riverhead:

1. On Monday, a rally was organized by St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church in Riverhead. Church members and members of the local community gathered outside Riverhead Town Hall to rally against the war in Ukraine. (Riverhead Patch)
2. "A State Supreme Court judge in Albany County has sided with the Town of Riverhead in a decade-old lawsuit challenging regulations adopted by the State Department of Environmental Conservation in 2010 to protect endangered species," reported RiverheadLOCAL. Riverhead Town sued the DEC arguing that the failure to hold a public hearing prior to adopting the rules made the adoption illegal. (RiverheadLOCAL)
3. The Suffolk County Department of Health Services' Division of Environmental Quality will hold its regular monthly Board of Review Hearing on Thursday March 10. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) response, the hearings will be held via Zoom. (Press Release Desk)
4. On Feb. 28, to celebrate Black History Month, members of Southampton High School's Black Girl Magic Club and students from Southampton Intermediate School participated in the National African American Read-In Movement. They brought in books authored or illustrated by African Americans and read them to the district's elementary school students. (Patch)
