Riverhead Fire Department Tackles Brush Fires Saturday

The cause of the fires is under investigation, officials say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — The Riverhead Fire Department crews responded to a number of brush fires Saturday, fire officials said.

The fires were located east of Route 105 between Northville Turnpike and Main Road, the fire department said.

"We put out a few small fires when we got there," the Riverhead Fire Department said.

Riverhead Town Fire Marshals are investigating the cause of the fires, officials said.
