Dorothy Murphy, the Sandel Senior Center’s Friendly Caller Committee Chairperson, was joined by assistant chairperson Ella Mayo (center) and Nancy Molise along with other members in preparing Passover and Easter baskets for homebound seniors in Rockville Centre.
The Friendly Caller Committee pairs volunteers with homebound seniors to build and maintain relationships through weekly phone calls and monthly visits. During holidays, visitors form the committee deliver gifts baskets to their homebound friends. The program was developed by social worker, Rose Genovese, who is not pictured.
