Join us this MLK Day as we come together to pack breakfast and lunch 
meal kits for Feeding Westchester—nourishing children and families in 
the county with care and compassion. Help us honor Dr. King’s legacy by 
transforming his message of service into action against hunger in our 
community.
This event is FREE and open to everyone ages 10 and up; registration is required.

MLK Day of Service Volunteer Program: Packing Meal Kits

Hoff-Barthelson Music School

Hoff-Barthelson Music School, located at 25 School Lane in Scarsdale, invites children, families, and adults of all ages to discover the joy of music learning at its Winter Open House on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 pm. A snow date is scheduled for Sunday, January 25, 2026.
During this engaging, hands-on event, guests will have the opportunity to sample private mini-lessons with the School’s distinguished faculty, explore a wide range of instruments, and experience the personalized, student-centered approach that has made Hoff-Barthelson one of the nation’s premier community music schools.
Visitors interested in expanding their musical understanding are encouraged to stop by the Musicianship and Composition Drop-in, where they can meet Dr. Derek Cooper and learn more about the School’s dynamic classes for both children and adults.
For those ready to begin—or continue—their musical journey—personalized advisement and placement will be available through one-on-one meetings with Deans Christopher Kenniff and April Johnson, with on-site enrollment support provided by the Registrar.
“Our Winter Open House is a wonderful opportunity for prospective students and families to experience the warmth, creativity, and connection that define our community,” said Dean Christopher Kenniff. “Whether you’re exploring an instrument for the first time or returning to music after many years, we’re here to support your growth with exceptional teaching and a welcoming environment.”

not alone. Whether your loved one is home alone, living with you, or in a
 facility, if you share some responsibility or concern for their care,

Join us for a monthly caregiver 
support group at the JCCMW facilitated by Sarah Lieberman, LMSW, social 
worker at Westchester Jewish Community Services. Sarah has many years of
 experience supporting caregivers and it is her hope to create a safe, 
confidential space to share stories and trade information and resources 
among group participants.

covers and assemble Shabbat and snack kits for Jewish service members,

Sing, Connect, and Celebrate—Join the New JCCMW Adult Choir!
If you love to sing, raise your voice and join our choir! This welcoming choir, led by Beth Styles,
 is open to adults of all skill levels. The music will be a blend of 
beloved songs through time including selections from Broadway, film, 
pop, contemporary, and classics from the 50s.&nbsp; Whether you’ve 
participated in choirs all your life or have never done so before — all 
are welcome! Over 12 weeks, you’ll build and strengthen your vocal 
skills, share in a joyful community, and perform in a festive final 
concert at the end of the session.

13 Drivers’ Licenses
 is a powerful exhibit that brings to light the individual stories of 
thirteen Jewish residents of Lichtenfels, Germany, who were persecuted 
during the Nazi regime. The exhibit began with an extraordinary 
discovery: thirteen original driver’s licenses found in an old building 
in the small Bavarian town of Lichtenfels. Once uncovered, the licenses 
were entrusted to a local high school teacher, who recognized their 
historical significance and transformed the find into a meaningful 
research project for his students.
Over the course of several months, 
the students carefully investigated each name, ultimately tracing and 
connecting with the descendants of all thirteen individuals. Through 
their work, long-silenced lives were restored and remembered.

 a descendant of three of the recovered licenses, who will share this 
remarkable story and reflect on its personal and historical impact.
Following the presentation, 
participants will enjoy a falafel lunch in honor of David (Dugo) 
Leitner, a Holocaust survivor. Each year at this time, through the 
global event of Operation Dugo, we pay tribute to Dugo’s life and resilience by sharing falafel as a tribute to survival, remembrance, and hope.

Greetings, We have organized a very special benefit concert to help raise money for the <a href="https://dobbsferrypantry.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry</a>, which needs our help given the recent budget cuts. They have been serving our community since&nbsp;2011, helping out at least 500 people a month.
It will be an all star jazz concert held at the Jazz Forum in Tarrytown on Thursday, January 22nd from 7-10 pm (doors open at 6).
