SHIRLEY, NY — Investigators seized cocaine, cash, scales, and packaging during a raid on a home in Shirley and arrested one of the residents on Oct. 23, Suffolk police say.

In an Instagram post announcing an arrest on Sunday, the 7th Precinct's brass said its narcotics team recovered the items, which are used to help in the sale of drugs. They were recovered during the execution of a search warrant on Harrison Avenue, police said Tuesday.

Charles Mayo, 50, was arrested and charged with second-and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Mayo pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip, according to online court records. His bail was set at $100,000, $20,000 insured bond, and $1,000,000 partially secured surety bond, the records show.
