Man Seriously Injures Woman In Shooting, Then Kills Self On Long Island: Police
It happened on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police say.
LONG ISLAND, NY — A man shot a woman, seriously wounding her, and then killed himself on Saturday afternoon at a home in Ridge, Suffolk police said.
Seventh Precinct officers were called to a home on Woodbrook Drive just before 1 p.m. after a caller alerted 911, and a 68-year-old woman and resident of the home was found with two gunshot wounds and taken by police helicopter to a local hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries, according to police.
Gerard Senatore, a 66-year-old who was also a resident of the home, barricaded himself inside the house, Emergency Service Section officers went inside the home and found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
