Ambulance Arrived 'In Minutes' After LI Boy Found In Pool: Chief
"CPR was already in progress. Our paramedics got the child in the ambulance right away," Chief Wesley Phillips said.
RIDGE, NY – A two-year-old boy was found unresponsive in an in-ground pool in the backyard of a Ridge home on Monday night, Suffolk police said.
He was discovered at a home on Cross Road at around 7:30 p.m., according to police.
Ridge Fire Department Chief Wesley Phillips said the department was in house for its monthly meeting when the call came in.

"So when we were activated for the call, we were there in minutes," he said. "CPR was already in progress. Our paramedics got the child in the ambulance right away."
The ambulance had a police escort, according to Phillips.

He was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead and then transferred to Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, police said.
The investigation is continuing, according to police.
